Central Manchester CAMRA Equality Policy
Real ale is great. Beer is great. Real cider & perry is pretty damn good too. And we in CAMRA believe that everybody should be free to enjoy them in a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or social/economic status.
We welcome all visitors to our festivals, socials and meetings as equals and seek to provide an inclusive environment to enjoy beer and cider. We expect all our volunteers to treat all fairly and with respect at all times. Equally, all our volunteers are entitled to be treated with respect by visitors to any events we may run and by fellow volunteers. We also expect our visitors to treat everyone fairly and with respect at all times.
Comments or behaviour which discriminate, belittle or demeans anybody based on their gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability or social/economic status will not be tolerated.
Anybody who experience or witness inappropriate comments or behaviour from a volunteer, visitor, or anyone else at any event we are running (or who come across inappropriate signage or images) should report it immediately by either:
Speaking to the volunteer who is Organising the event - in this case Graham Donning
Speaking to a CAMRA Chairperson or emailing them at
chairman@centralmanchester.camra.org.ukIf at a Festival organised by the Branch, Volunteers who experience or witness inappropriate behaviour from a visitor, fellow volunteer, or anyone else, should report it to their designated manager or direct to the organiser. The quicker an incident is reported, the greater the opportunity to identify those involved.
All reports will be treated in confidence. The Branch will do their utmost to identify the individual(s) involved and investigate appropriately.
Sanctions available for breaches of this policy include:
A warning regarding future behaviour
Being asked to leave the event or festival immediately
Future exclusion from the event or festival
Members of CAMRA may be reported to the Regional Director and subject to CAMRA's disciplinary procedures which can result in expulsion and barring from the Campaign.
We believe breweries and cider producers should not use discriminatory marketing to promote their products and will not permit such materials to be used at any festival/event organised by us.
Companies which utilise discriminatory marketing on any of their products will not be invited to participate at any event organised by the Branch.
